A Month of Romance

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

February is the month for mushy, gushy, lovey, dovey fun!  Valentine's Day is our favorite holiday! Cupid struck us with an arrow, and now we're tied to the very idea of love. Frankly, we love love. Why else would we be in the bridal business? And what a better time to do a month of daily blogs of romantic, whimsical and fancy-free ideas than February?

The basis of our blogs would be none other than the Royal Wedding. Not THE Royal Wedding- It will be all about how RD I DO can help you have your own Royal Wedding. After all, you are the princess, right? The blog posts will consist of multiple things and multiple creative ways that you can tie in all of your elegant ideas to your BIG DAY and carry the ideas throughout all of the pieces of your wedding from save-the-dates, invitations, favors, gifts and accessories.

So, stay tuned! You will not want to miss out on our month of wedding blog bliss!

Seating Charts

Monday, January 10, 2011

We have had a few bridal clients lately who have wanted to opt out of the "traditional" use of place cards (and assignment of 250 seats for their guests) in favor of the "Guest Map."  By creating a map or seating chart, guests can view which table they are assigned to as they arrive.

Here are some things to consider with a seating chart:

  • You can leave the seats open and only assign guests to tables.
  • You can still have fun naming or decorating your tables to the theme of your wedding.
  • Your guests won't spend 30 minutes finding their destination, assuming they can read a map!
  • You can cut printing costs by eliminating hundreds of pieces of paper.

When planning your seating chart, jazz it up and get just as creative as you would with your place cards. Add a border, your monogram, or a pretty frame. Choose a font that is easily readable yet describes the theme of the wedding.

Need help? Our very creative and talented graphics team is here 5 days a week during regular business hours to answer your designing needs. Make sure this is completed at least two weeks in advance to give yourself time to breathe and relax, knowing that one other item on your To Do List is checked off.

Happy Seating!

New Year, New Weddings

Monday, January 3, 2011

If  you or someone you know is holding their wedding in the Spring of 2011, now is the time to start ordering those final details for your big day. As a "Rule of Thumb" your wedding invitations should be ordered with enough time to be shipped, assembled and mailed to your guests at least 8 weeks before the celebration date (with RSVPs due 4 weeks beforehand so that caterers, planners, etc. can all be kept in the loop without last minute stress and To Do's being added to the list).  With most vendors, orders for your favors, gifts and accessories can be placed and shipped within 3 weeks notice (if you are one to wait until the last minute). If you are planning on ordering some pieces for accents or DIY projects, we recommend ordering at least 5 weeks out so that you have time to assemble and plan accordingly.

2011 will bring so much excitement here at RD I DO.  We have some great goals and aspirations, not only for us but also for our wonderful clients. Although you will not see us at many local bridal shows, we will be hosting a handful (or two) of our own bridal parties right here at Old Town Manor in Lansing, Michigan.

For those of you who do not know much about our company, please feel free to contact us at any time or visit our website. (Call Rebecca at 708.2106; Website:www.rdbrides.com). We are a division of Rizzi Designs, a local marketing, design and advertising firm located in Lansing's Old Town. Why is that significant to know? If you are looking for a more personalized and comfortable approach to accomplishing exactly what you want for your wedding, we are who you want to turn to. With our talented creative group, we can design your monograms and help you find that perfect favor for your guest. The best part is that everything you need is all done under one roof. You will speak directly with the team that is working for you- we do not and will not outsource any of our projects.

New Year. New Weddings. New Clients. We are so excited to meet you, your future spouse and help you both create your perfect wedding pieces.
