Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Parting gifts can be quite expensive and choosing an appropriate gift for your guests can be a difficult decision to make. The perfect gift fits with the theme, personality, and budget of the wedding, but brides often find themselves split between the personal or practical and the thrifty or splurge.

There are so few rules to consider when making these choices; weddings have become more of a forum of expression for the couple. Considering gifts that represent you as a couple such as an item you may both love or something you both enjoy is important to make the gift more personal.

Practicality is also something to consider; many couples are integrating double-duty decorations as favors for their guests. Decorative votive holders or stemware are a fantastic way to cover two items on the list with a single investment. Another idea, growing in popularity over the past few years, is a spread of candy or confections for buffet-style fun! Guests can select from several choices to take in their own goody bags. With all the options of confection colors available, these "candy bars" can be a fabulous decorative touch, entertaining, and a guest favor in one!

"Here's to Us!" Toasting in Your Own Unique Style

Monday, May 16, 2011

It is easy to overlook stemware and choose the old-fashioned traditional champagne flutes filled with a glass of basic bubbly. Incorporating hand-selected stemware and personal engraving can make the first toast as a married couple even more meaningful. Adding a signature champagne cocktail or alcohol-free juice blend made just for your wedding theme can add even more to this basic tradition.

The flutes (or wine glasses, elaborate stemware, beer mugs...) you can go far beyond the basic standard of personalization with your names and wedding date. You can forgo the names of the couple and engrave or print a monogram or personal logo which emulate other details of the wedding such as flowers or the theme of the wedding. This can create a special sense of unity to the moment for you and your groom (and be used for moments again and again post-wedding!). Ask your consultant at RD I Do to show you some of the incredible things we can create to combine custom design and unique stemware for your personalized toasting!

If you're looking for something classic-yet-modern, these chic flutes from Kate Spade give off a spark with their original lines and sharper edges from the more traditional flute. These would be a fantastic touch to the head table: imagine a custom monogram adding a true personal touch.

These teardrop shaped champagne glasses combine the sense of unity with an aesthetic of one-of-a-kind! Just as with other stemware, RD I Do can see to getting personal touches of your wedding theme attached to these crystal heart-center design glasses.

For the more casual atmosphere or laid-back couple, these stemless wine glasses are a perfect way to toast to new love in a less formal style. You'll notice these already have a custom monogram and image, and yours will be no exception. The look you love (whether it be custom designed or selected from one of your many wedding magazines!) can easily be incorporated into this step of the reception.
