"Hold On" My Friends

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Show your appreciation for your wedding guests by not only providing them with a great wedding favor, but with place cards and holders as well. The place card holders should be unique and special enough to create an unforgettable wedding memory between you and those loved ones.

· Add a cork to your wedding. Wine improves with ages as do friends, hence the saying, “old friends and old wine are best.” Therefore, combining both friendships and corks seems to be a perfect fit. A cork-like place card holder with light bouquet will bring a warm touch to the depth of guests’ hearts.

· Crown the friendship. It is not easy to find real friends in this cynical, skeptical world. We believe each guest you are willing to share the happiest day in your life with must be someone deserving of a crown. A tiara place card holder can emphasize your unique bond with each of your guests.

· Especially for you. Each friendship is different and showcasing that would be a clever way to show your guests how much they mean to you, but customizing place card holders for each guest can be expensive. However, an embellished clothespin m can save your wallet while still dedicating the uniqueness to each guest.

Jazz up Your Modern "Bonbonniere" with Jigsaw Puzzles!

Friday, July 8, 2011

What is a “Bonbonniere?” Hundreds of years ago in Europe, weddings were viewed as a time of luck and fortune. To pass on the good luck to the guests in attendance, the newlyweds would send them away with a bonbonniere, which was a small box made out of metal, precious stones or even crystal. Usually, there would be five candies or almonds put in it. These five candies represented five principles: wealth, health, longevity, fertility and happiness.

Today, bonbonnieres are no longer trinket box with five symbolic pieces of filling, but rather have evolved into miscellaneous wedding favors we see at receptions today. RD I DO knows you two wish luck and fortune on your guests, and that you still want something special to show your appreciation for them sharing your big day with you.

Every person your wedding is witnessing your first moments as you begin your long journey together. Uniqueness and creativity is key when choosing a wedding favor for your guests. A jigsaw puzzle wedding favor can be something your guests may find intriguing and you can choose a photo that showcases your personality. RD I DO is here to help you find creative takes on old traditions.

Creating Custom Couple Cards

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Every time you meet with a florist, baker, DJ, or other vendor, you are consistently repeating the same things: your names, your wedding date, and contact information. This information is similar to what you would see on a business card and many couples are taking note of this.

Creating couple cards is an easy way to distribute your wedding details to multiple vendors without sounding like a broken record. These cards can be designed as simply or as elaborately as you would like – in the style or theme of your wedding.

Handing out cards provides the vendor with the opportunity to keep you in mind, but also to keep your information in one place. Quick, convenient, and chic! Just include your full names, wedding date, email address (some couples create a joint account for wedding contacts), and phone number on a decorative business card. Voila!

In the spirit of professionalism combined with personal creative touches, the Couple Card is a reflection on the special bond between the two of you. Some couples are leaning toward similar themes of their invitations or save-the-dates. Others opt for a small picture to help vendors keep track of who they are. We at RD I Do are ready to customize and create your perfect couple card -- designed, planned, and printed!
