Friday, February 25, 2011

We have reached the end of our month of royally inspired blogs! Hard to believe, isn’t it? We do have some exciting stuff in the next few weeks, so don’t check out just yet! The interns have written 30 themes to post in 30 days for you to generate all the ideas possible for your own wedding and theme. We want to thank you for reading so far, and hope to continue drawing you back to see what creativity is brewing here in the future!

Last, but not least, we are going to offer a great wedding party gift to thank those who have put a lot of effort into your special day! Picture frames are a huge trend in wedding party gifts lately. At RD I DO, we can offer a variety of sizes and styles to frame the picture of your day so they will never forget. These can also be easily personalized with a monogram or the date, or names of the wedding party. Adding a picture with the frame is a sentimental touch, and hopefully inspires the guests to display it in their homes, proudly saying they were a part of your big day.
We hope you have enjoyed our royal wedding blog. Perhaps it gave you many ideas for your own wedding, or an even better idea of what RD I DO can do to help make your wedding the day of your dreams. Thanks again for reading, and we hope to hear from you soon!

I Can Hear the Bells...

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Wedding bells are a timeless wedding tradition. In the past, bells would ring as a new couple left the church after their wedding ceremony, signifying to all who could hear that a marriage just occurred. With the increasing trend of non-traditional ceremony venues, the tradition of ringing wedding bells is slowly disappearing.

Give your guests small wedding bells to ring and bring this tradition back! Gold wedding bells will create a regal feel. Leave them in baskets before the ceremony and have the guests ring them as you leave the location, or set them as favors at the reception for a spin on the clinking glasses for a kiss tradition. It’s a fun way to bring back a special tradition that your guests could also enjoy.
If you like this, or other RD I DO blog ideas, or have creative ideas of your own, remember to come in and visit us. We will make your dreams come true.

Wrap your Wedding Up In Ribbon!

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

When looking at décor for a wedding, one essential component is easily overlooked: texture! Different textures can provide monochromatic looks with dimension and variety, or add very luxurious elements to simple pieces.
The RD I DO staff have ideas about how to incorporate one piece of texture into your own resplendently royal wedding. For example, a gold or red ribbon on accessories like the ring bearer pillow, guest book, unity candle, garter, card basket, pen holders or the flower basket is a very sophisticated way to add some satin into your decorations.
One of the RD I DO vendors specializes in this accessorizing, and we will work with you and them to achieve the perfect combination of color and texture to achieve your royal vision.

Invitations for a Fairy Tale Princess

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Invitations set the tone for the wedding in the guests’ minds. They make a lot of assumptions just from the color an designs!

A way to invoke a fairytale feeling in your invitations without a Disney logo or covering it in glitter (not that those are bad options) is in the wording. This is the one time you can get away with cliches, so take it and run!

Here are just a few different ideas: “They found their happy ending and invite you to join the celebration!” would be a good intro, or “We formally invite you to witness the beginning of our happily ever after.” “The prince has found his princess, and they are getting married,” or “Fairytales do come true,” are also easy ways to add the lingo to your invitations.

Of course, RD I DO is willing to help with all your invitation needs, from styles and paper designs that fit into your fairytale, to the exact words you choose to share the news.

Keep in mind that in designing your own invitations for your dream-come-true wedding, foil prints, embossing as well glossy and shimmer papers and envelopes can really add a nice touch to your invitations, making them truly fit for a Fairy Tale Princess!

When talking to your personal consultant at RD I DO, ask to see some of our customizable and specialty papers available!

Week 2: Creating a Truly Unique Fairy Tale Wedding Day

Monday, February 7, 2011

The second week of our Royal Wedding inspired blog month is “Fairytale Princess.” At some point in every little girl’s life, she wished to be one of the classic Disney Princesses.  She wanted the fairytale ending to her love story with a pretty, frilly dress and a Prince Charming.

And a wedding is the perfect time, your once in a lifetime chance, to bring these dreams to reality! With a color palette of soft blue and silver, you can set the stage for your happily ever after in a grand ballroom and make an exit in a horse-drawn carriage.

In keeping with last week, the first idea from this theme will be the save-the-date.  This particular style has “princess” written all over it.  The woman in the classic Cinderella dress standing next to Prince Charming tells your guest this will be the ball of the century, and they shouldn’t miss it.

Our Carlson Craft book offers many other fairytale appropriate save-the-dates, so feel free to schedule an appointment to look through our products (as well as those from other vendors) to find the things you need to have your own happy ending. Know exactly what you want? We can help you design your perfect save-the-date from start to finish!

Gifts Fit for a Queen

Saturday, February 5, 2011

To make your modern royal wedding memorable for both you and your Royal Court (bridal party), get some great wedding gifts!

There are a lot of presents you can choose to give. You want something special and meaningful to show how you appreciate them and their help during this exciting time in your life. A modern bride will also want to give the maids a gift that they might be able to use repeatedly. We think a tote bag with special design of your own style is a perfect accessory. We could choose similar black, white and modern pink color for the tote bag. We can put your unique monogram to make an impression.

Also, gifts in the tote bag could be created to fit into the theme. Gifts don't need to be expensive to be memorable! A personalized  photo frame with the happy moment recording you and bridesmaids could be a great choice for you as well.

In addition we could also provide you with many other options from one of our 10,000+ vendors. If our week of Modern Princess inspired ideas give some  vague notions of what you might like, we can help design and produce your ideas to make your dream come true.

The Perfect Favor for a Modern Princess' Royal Court

Friday, February 4, 2011

Nothing is impossible in the world of wedding favors. The sky is the limit here at RD I DO.  We are associated with 10,000 vendors and can provide you with the most outrageous requests, so even if we do not have exactly what you are looking for on hand, we can find it for you!

Here is a new non-traditional idea for wedding favors, especially for summer style weddings:  mini-water bottles.   Each bottle is wrapped in paper of your choice, decorated with your monogram, your names, your favorite quote! The guests will appreciate water during the reception without having to remember whose glass is whose at the table. Adding a rhinestone to the top gives it a bit of sparkle. Guests can refill these water bottles over and over, which will be the perfect remedy for a long night dancing and partying! Stay hydrated! :)

Modern Bride Wedding Details

Thursday, February 3, 2011

From bridal shower ideas to wedding invitations, wedding cakes, wedding decorations, there are lots of ways to make your wedding branding memorable and different.

The details can make all of the large elements and themes of your wedding tie together smoothly.  Little details make all the difference!

One detail that can leave an impression is this glass piece. It can be used to hold your unity candle, centerpieces, or you could even order this in a smaller size and use it as a drinking glass. The script adds modern words related to love and marriage that also adds a  romantic feel to a simple glass.

There are all sorts of glasses you can use for various purposes at RD I DO. If you want individual glasses monogrammed or even a poem or sonnet engraved or printed on a glass, we can do that for you too! Remember, there are no boundaries for the modern princess!

RD I Do works with over 10,000 vendors. Looking for a specific type of glassware, color and all under a certain price range? Believe it or not, we have you covered.

Your (Modern) Royal Wedding - Day 2

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Week 1: “Modern Princess”
Day 2: Invitations
Continuing with the theme for the week, Modern Princess, we are moving on from highlighted save-the-dates to showcasing some invitation ideas.

This first idea ties in perfectly with yesterday’s idea. The pink outer envelope carries over the color, and the similar black and white modern print fits well in this chic new invitation style. The printed paper is laid underneath the pink fold, and when the invitation is opened, the background is white. This longer envelope shape allows for streamlined invitations. This paper comes in all sorts colors and patterns, to match any theme or color scheme you might have in mind.

There are invitations for seemingly every aspect of the wedding to consider aside from the main letters. There are invitations for bridal showers, bachelorette and even rehearsal dinners!

The design on this invitation is very “Sex and the City," which to some is the princess story of the 21st century. Carrie Bradshaw ends up with her clothes, job, and the prince of her dreams! What else could a princess ask for? Wouldn't you want your bridesmaids to read this blog and use chic invites like these for your bridal shower? I can’t think of anything better.

*Thinking of using your own designs or monogram on your invitations? RD I DO creative consultants can help you with just that! BRAND your wedding from start to finish and truly make it unlike any other Royal Wedding in history. Contact us today to schedule your free consultation!

A Princess for a Day

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

The upcoming Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011 has set the wedding world abuzz with ideas about what she will wear, who will be there, and how traditional or modern the event will be. The day is certain to be spectacular and the envy of mere mortal brides everywhere.

Here at RD I DO, we have decided to jump on this royal blogging bandwagon as well. Instead of offering our opinions on the royal wedding, we want to help you plan your own dream day! We have come up with 4 different royally inspired themes that we will showcase over the next four weeks. Each theme of the week will offer 5 days of related ideas and RD I DO products to help you feel like a Royal Princess on your special day.

Week 1 Theme: Modern Princess
Day 1: Save the Dates
Our first weekly theme is “Modern Princess.” This theme is wide open for interpretation. We see it as having classic “girly” elements (like pink flowers or a feminine color scheme) while keeping the overall tone very 21st century with contemporary graphics on your invitations, save the dates and even your cocktail napkins.  Simple chic décor with just a bit of sparkle can also add a modern twist. Since “modern” can be very a subjective term, the way you want to feel like a 21stcentury belle of the ball could look very different. RD I DO can help you find exactly what you are looking for to fit your perfect day.

We will start each week off with Save-the-Date ideas related to the theme. This rising trend offers many variations on style, and offers plenty of room for creativity. You can add engagement pictures, stickers for a calendar, design a magnet, or even a combination of all of these ideas to give your save the date a modern and unique feel.
Our first option is this magnet Save-the-Date.

This example is from the RD I DO folders. Folders full of different ideas that can be easily personalized. This magnet allows your guests to just stick on it the fridge, where they will see it every day, constantly increasing their excitement for your special wedding day!

The modern black and white graphic is super chic and gives it a moderate dose of romance.  Feel free to jazz it up with rhinestones, or stick on the magnet to a piece of cardstock with a special message for your guests. Everything can be personalized, so feel free to come to RD I DO with your own ideas too!
